Wilbarger Therapy Brush
The Therapressure Brush is the sensory brush designed by Patricia Wilbarger, the occupational therapist who developed the Wilbarger protocol, also known as “brushing therapy”.
Sensory brushes are designed to deliver a deep pressure massage to help improve sensory defensiveness. This essential tool can be used as part of the Wilbarger Brushing Protocol to help improve attention span and ability to transition between activities. Children with autism will see a decrease in the fear or discomfort of being touched, enhanced coordination, and better self- regulation.
Run the soft dense bristles over the skin with moderate pressure for a uniquely calming sensory experience. The portable size ensures that you’ll have this calming brush wherever you are. For specific instructions on brushing therapy, it is best to speak with an occupational therapist or therapist trained in the Wilbarger Protocol.
Great, but ads on top Compact plastic brush about 2 by 3 inches. Arrived on time in a mailing envelope & brushes are in a plastic bag. Firm plastic with bristles about .5″ long. Useful for massage, cleaning etc. I took two stars off because the picture shows blank brushes without words on them but the ones I got have a big ad on the top with the company website address. I don’t wish to promote a website when using these on my clients. I suppose I can cover the ad with something. But this is about the false…
Student loves it! I have a student with autism who likes sensory brushes. We used to use same brushes at local hospital NICU. However, those brushes have been changed and she did not like the new ones. She located one of these sensory brushes on my desk and claimed it. It is her new favorite item in her sensory basket!
It’s a bag of identical sensory brushes to be used … It’s a bag of identical sensory brushes to be used for the Wilbarger Protocol Brushing Program. Very straight forward. Please make sure that if you get these brushes and use them, that you are using them as instructed, especially if you have an OT that has been through the training that can help you. Not all OT understand how to use these properly, and brushing certain areas of the body can cause more problems than they solve.
