Not for everyone This bed rail won’t work for everyone. At least not for an 83 y/o woman with not enough strength in her arms to pull herself up into a seated position in the morning. And with the handle raised up high enough to be accessible, the handle wobbles where the 2 pieces come together. This set up would also be rather cumbersome while making a bed or changing sheets. Great purchase, high quality at the lowest price I encountered in my search. My father is 98 and recently expressed that he is having difficulty getting himself out of bed. Immediately the first night it was most helpful to him and not complicated or confusing to work with. I searched the Amazon site using “assists for rising from bed”. It didn’t work for me Even though the instructions and description state that the height adjustment is 13 1/2″ to 16 1/2″, the minimum height is 16 1/2″, and therefore didn’t fit between my mother’s mattress and box spring, which is 15″. The seller apologized for a “miscommunication,” but I wasted time and the effort involved in trying to make this work and then having to return it.
