SPECIFICATIONS
8206232A Microwave Light Bulb is 40W and has a small screw-in base. To access the exterior light bulb, you will need to remove the panel on the bottom of the microwave using a Phillips screwdriver. If your exterior light bulb has not been changed before, it is probably held in place with some silicone. You will need to cut away this silicone to remove the old bulb. If you cannot access the silicone with a utility knife, it can be removed using dental floss. Once the silicone is removed, simply unscrew the old bulb, and replace it with the new one. Be sure to disconnect the power to the microwave before you begin this repair.

Fits perfectly in my GE microwave! Although there was some question if these bulbs would be a good replacement for the bulbs in my GE microwave, I took a chance and ordered them. Be sure to carefully measure the bulb you are wanting to replace and order replacement bulbs with the exact dimensions and wattage as the old one. Perfect fit for our Maytag Microwave Hood! After being unable to find the perfect bulb for our microwave in the local stores, I ordered these and they are the exact bulb we needed for your Maytag microwave hood. The ones we purchased locally were all just slightly too long and would press up against a plastic piece inside, which probably isn’t the best idea. These are the exact design of the original bulb.

Exact Length, Fit Like a Charm My Maytag over the range microwave uses the standard microwave 40 watt incandescent bulb, at least threadwise. What I found locally at Ace, Aubuchon, and Walmart were too long. The Blue Star slid right in. Price was fair and delivery was a couple of days ahead of promised. I’m content – hasn’t burned out yet.
