Great idea but needs a little design help I bought this for my mother-in-law with Dementia and has difficulty with balance. It’s a great concept and was easy to install. My only complaint is that the handles move at front of toilet. This is defeating the purpose of this item. It should be sturdy so that she feels safe using it. This would be great if it didn’t shift as she uses it.
Down is good. Out is bad. Works fine if you’re o my putting downard pressure while sitting down, but if you exert any outward pressure, be prepared for the front of the rail to slip off the rim of the toilet bowl.I bought this for my wife who is recovering from hamstring surgery and can’t put any weight on that side of her butt, meaning she has to push laterally on on rail trying to keep the weight off the bad side. Although it seems like a very helpful product for the elderly Although it seems like a very helpful product for the elderly, it should be noted that the handrails work with leverage of the body exerting downward pressure only. My mom is wobbly, which is why I needed the rails. Her tendency is to push OUT or AWAY on the bars to get up and down, not directly up and down.
