More fun than Hearts and Rummy, award-winning Wizard is “the Ultimate Game of Trump” the whole family can enjoy. The rules are easy to learn — the strategy adds an exciting challenge. In Wizard, players try to win the exact number of tricks they bid. The Wizard deck is similar to a regular deck of playing cards with the addition of four Wizards and four Jesters. Jesters always lose and Wizards always win. In the first round, players start out with one card. In the second round, players are deal two cards, and so on, with each round becoming more challenging. When you make your exact bid, you earn points. If you take too many or too few tricks, you lose points. The special, custom Wizard Score Sheet helps players keep track of bids and points. Wizard Card Game can be played with 2-6 players. Instructions are in English, French, and Spanish.

Don’t pass up this game! My children and sometimes my grandchildren meet every Thursday night at our house to eat and play cards. It is so nice to be together and we play Wizard all the time. There are always 4 -to 8 of us who play and of course the more that show up the more fun it is to play this card game and so easy to learn. That reminds me to order another couple of boxes as mine are wearing out. I highly recommend this card game. Of course we are all adults at this stage of life.
Lots of fun, but make sure you receive “original” cards, not German Fantasy version. Really fun card game. The Wizard and Jester cards make it more strategic than Oh Hell, which you can play with a regular deck. I even bought the iPhone app so I could practice on my own.Warning: My first purchase was for the pictured cards in a “original Wizard card game” blue box. The second time I got the German “Fantasy” version of the cards, even though it was supposed to be the exact same set as the first time.
WONDERFUL card game! We learned to play “Oh Hell” in Peace Corps in the ’70s, and back home learned that other people knew it as “Up the River and Down”. Gail was taught Wizard on a cruise with her cousin, and it’s just Oh Hell with a twist – a couple of additional cards, and a different scoring system. The reason I like it is that there is sufficient “chance” involved that the most intense player can’t stomp everyone else into the ground. Yes, it can be frustrating, but experience…
