Fan Service! As a child of the 80’s, the TMNT were a big part of my life whether in toys, video games, cartoons, etc.., so this game appeared to be a natural connection when it was announced last year.The general consensus of this game from the professional reviewers is one that is extremely poor, rushed and every other negative connotation one can think of. I love this game I’m one of those crazy TMNT fan’s of the 90’s. I had turtle everything AND turtle birthday parties, cereal, clothing, halloween… etc. I was a total turtle nut as a kid. I played all the games and beat all the of the nintendo games except for the 1st game, my copy kept freezing at the last level. Oh well. Anyway, I love this game, its a lot of fun and similar enough to the 90’s turtles even with the different “look” of the cartoon now. Lots of additional things in each level to replay…
No nuance. It’s not really the game I thought it would be. It’s too “press this..combo..good job” for me. It lacks the intricacy of a game I would enjoy. I sincerely hoped the game would be closer to the Super Nintendo games, only next gen, but the trigger system is oafish and too automatic. The fighting is also kind of rubberized, like it feels like the turtles have gloves on or something; not sure I can explain it any better.
