Banister to Banister Install I searched high and low for a gate with banister to banister installation that did not require drilling into banisters. I came across this and decided it was my best option. READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASING!!! The product looked really sturdy and the color was fine HOWEVER they need to make it clear that if you have bannisters that do not start on the floor or have the railing coming off of it, they will not fit. You have to be able to attach these chunky pieces in order to use this product and it would not work on the square portion of our bannisters. I have attached pictures in case anyone else has a staircase like ours. You must have completely unobstructed square posts on the top and the bottom!
Sturdy but difficult to open The quality of the materials is decent, but the gate is a bit hard to unlock. When you are carrying a 28 lb 9 month old itâs really annoying. You have to squeeze the lock, lift it, the drag the door in on itself, then swing it open. My husband takes the gate off every night so he can quietly leave for work in the morning.
