Get rid of all your mismatched containers! These are sturdy containers, like hot-food deli or takeout containers, not like the thin cold-food deli containers. They are clear, so you can easily see what you’ve got. The lids fit securely, but are not difficult to remove. The containers themselves are very heat-safe, and do fine in the microwave. The lids can get a little deformed in the microwave, or when storing extremely hot food, but they still work. (They just don’t stack so nice.) I routinely carry lunches like soup and chili in them…
Make great earwig traps I have a real problem with earwigs in my vegetable garden. When I looked online I repeatedly read about making traps using pint containers. I drilled holes in the tops, added a small amount of soy sauce and oil to the containers (about an inch or so), put the lids on and buried them up to the lids in my veggie gardens. Boy did I catch earwigs! These containers held up great and were cheap enough to be disposable. I still have a bunch of them and I am sure I will find other uses for them.
Cheap thin plastic material. I would never use them for food. I received them today and tried putting 5 lids on five containers. When I pulled off 3 of the tight fitting lids the top edge of the bowl tore loose from the bowl itself. In other words the rim of the bowl ripped off when I took off the lid. Pretty weird as I have never seen this happen to any container ever. It appears the plastic is either defective, cheap, or too thin. This happened to three out of the five containers. I would never recommend this container.
