The Improvements are Enough to Make Buying the S1000A a “No Brainer.” Five years ago when we had the carpet taken out of the living room, dining room and bedroom, we bought a Shark steamer, and I wasn’t that impressed. Best I have used out of 4 Steamers over the last 25 years! This is the fourth steam mop I have had over the last 25 years. I have had a Euro Streamer (1st one I had. Died due to age), Oreck (still in use at my daughters), Bissel twin tank (no longer working, used prior to the Shark). All of these worked well, with a very good to excellent life expectancy, except for the Bissel, which stopped working in just over a year. Goodbye sticker residue! Goodbye gum! Goodbye cherry pie! I was feeling pretty neutral about this mop until it only took a minute to remove the sticker glue I’ve been working at for weeks (thanks kids), I didn’t need to get on my hands and knees to get the pie out of the grout (thanks kids), and I ran across some old gum (thanks kids) that came off with a few passes and it didn’t rub off the pad onto other parts of the floor.
