Effective, but not always While this product works very well at providing a clean load of laundry for most of my warm-water loads, I’ve had a lot of poor experiences where my cold-water loads will have clumps of the soap remaining on them. They are often there in transparent, soapy patches, and so I’ve missed them and dry my clothes only to discover hardened patches on my clothes. Removing them once dry is very difficult, and has even lead to small tears in my clothes. I really hope that the company can address this…

Doesn’t dissolve well in cold water I’m a fan of Seventh Generation because of their environmental impact. I’ve used Seventh Generation laundry powder before, and although it doesn’t dissolve quite as well in cold-water, it was rare that I would notice a lot of detergent leftover. With these laundry packs, virtually every load would end up with a clump of detergent left at the end (sometimes clumping on the clothes). I started putting the water in on hot to help it dissolve and switching over to cold once the packet had started…

Want your kids to do their own laundry? These make it easy (and neat!). I normally use Seventh Generation liquid laundry detergent, but I decided to teach my kids (ages 7 and 10) to do their own laundry, and I was dreading the sticky situation of detergent dribbles all over my laundry machines. Enter these detergent pods, and voila! My kids now do their own laundry, and my laundry room is neat and tidy. We also take these camping, in case we need to do a quick wash in a campground laundromat. They’re perfect!
