Economy in this case, means “cheaply made”. I was very disappointed in the quality of this product. I recently received it and the second time I used it, the large hook end bent and had to be straightened.i had used it to lift the foot rest on my wheelchair. It continued to bend whether I was using it to help put shoes on or pull open my window blinds. On day 3, the large hook snapped completely off, not pulled out, but snapped off. Very Useful! I recently had surgery on both of my shoulders. Due to limited shoulder movement, this dressing stick has been very useful in helping me take off my socks, since it is very difficult for me to reach down to remove them otherwise. Also, I found the dressing stick works pretty well to place medicine bottles in my cabinet. The bottle cap top fits just right into the curved “U” part of the coated wire end. I even used the hooked end to place a loose hook from my shower curtain back up on the shower…
Great for getting socks off! We purchased this for a very specific reason, so that my husband could remove his socks. We have a grabber with a screw on the end, but my husband’s swollen feet needed more oomph than it offered. This works seamlessly for that purpose.
