Curious kids try to get into anything and everything, but the Safety 1st OutSmart Flex Lock helps you keep them out with the first ever decoy button. The adjustable straps let you get a customized fit for cabinets with hardware up to 8 inches apart. Too easy to open. The “decoy” button on the front is a good idea; however, just squeezing the top and bottom to open makes this way too easy to get into. My little guy doesn’t stop working on things that he is determined to open. So since the big button doesn’t open it he will keep pushing all over the lock until he gets it open. It doesn’t take much pressure to squeeze it open.

Terrific ‘fake out’ button that kept my toddler occupied before he decided that trying to get into the cabinet wasn’t that exciting after all. In other words, exactly what I needed. He barely even glances at the cabinet doors anymore. Though sometimes he does swing by to push the button a few times just for fun.

A. Klos says:

Why didn’t I get this sooner?!? I’ve been using a sash to tie my daughter’s closet doors. She just discovered her big brother, 4 yro, can pry open the knots. Every morning was a horrific mess, all her stuff strewn across the floor. We tried the ideas U-shaped slider sLider first. She figured it out in maybe 20 minutes. But this lock keeps both of my kids, & my partner, out. Meanwhile I can easily open it with one hand. I’m very pleased.
