Great locks, but they need better hardware. These are the best child protective locks I have ever used. What makes them so good is that, when the grandkids go home, you can turn them “off” so you can get back to normal. Also, it only takes a minute to walk around the kitchen and bathrooms and re-arm them when the grandkids are coming. Also, the mounting templates that come with the locks are ingenious, although the ‘targets’ for holes are a bit off from where they should be.
I love the feature where you can engage or disengage the lock – great for Grandmaâs house for that reason Install took some getting used to, but I appreciate the templates they provide. Overall, we LOVE that we can engage or disengage the lock. This enables us to keep these locks on our cabinets forever. When our daughter stopped needing locks, we disengaged them and then re-engaged them when our 2nd child starting crawling. We also love how low profile they are. I might buy a set for my parents and in laws so we can engage them when we are visiting, but they donât need to deal with the baby…
They are a great idea, but their construction is rather poor I bought four of these and three worked reasonably well. They are a great idea, but their construction is rather poor. The first three seemed to work fine, but the large piece (with the moving catch) wouldn’t work once I fastened it down with the screws. It worked fine without being installed. Tightening the screws caused a binding of the moving latch. I tried shimming under the screws to relieve the binding but that didn’t work.
