It is OK but actually not all that useful for my mother It is OK but actually but, for my mother, it will take some practice and presence of mind for it to be useful. The product itself is fine, the hooks are coated so they are soft, and the design is good. It is just had to develop new habits. It needs to be left within reach and she needs to remember to try it. I have to say she has tried it a few mored times and it does help her with her socks. I have to remind her to try it a lot. her tendency is just to bend down and reach for things, out…

CHEAP–LIGHT DUTY ONLY Pretty frail device, useful only for light-duty use. It is a wooden dowel with s cup hook threaded into one end and a variation of an old fashioned wire coat hook on the other. That hook arrived bent where it joins the dowel and bends some more when used. Cheap design, cheaply made. I expect it will break soon.

Better Than The Hospital Standard Issue Dressing Stick This was purchased to replace the one that came home with me from the hospital. Its slightly larger diameter, it has a reinforcing metal ferule at both ends of the stick, the hook is vinyl coated so its less likely to scratch your skin, and the compound bent wire thing on the opposite end is a little stronger looking. However, be careful pushing hard on it because the compound bent wire thing is offset from the centerline of the stick, so it will bend sideways unless you’re careful.
