Buy a better reacher This is one of the worst grabbers I have ever used. It’s flimsy with a shape on the pick up end that makes it impossible to slide under a flat item, like a magazine or piece of mail, to pick it up. The claws also tend to pass each other because the alignment is so loose. There is also a small hard nub on the corner of the handle that pokes the side of your hand when you are trying to use it. I have used other light grabbers, so the “featherweight” is no excuse. This is poorly made and…

Highly recommend this for anyone who has had hip surgery/has difficulty bending and picking up. The grabber, (this kind in particular, because there are many different kinds out there), has come in very handy for my father. He already had a couple, but needed more after his hip surgery. (It’s a good idea to have one in each room. In my father’s case, the kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Mmm, not all that handy It works for very light objects, but not small or flat things like picking up a penny or a pill or pencil. It’s just for picking up say your socks, clothes or anything weighing less than 8oz. Only one end of the gripper part moves and it will not stay perpendicular with the other side of the gripper when picking up something more than a few oz. The tension can be adjusted by tightening the string, but over all the ends of the gripper just don’t grab enough things. It’s more for helping to put…
