Bat Masterson lived quite an intriguing life during the times on the American Wild West days. He was well known as buffalo hunter, U.S. Marshall, Army scout, fisherman, gambler, and frontier lawman and even a sports editor and columnist for the New York Morning Telegraph. His popularity with a cane grew from using one on the television series “Bat Masterson”. His use of a cane on the show was not for character development all in itself, but he was actually shot in the pelvis during a gunfight by Corporal Melvin A. King. This gunfight was allegedly over a girl.
His television series only amplified his portray of the character that really sold the story into legend that he needed to carry a cane for the rest of his life. Masterson was portrayed by Gene Barry in the television series, which aired on NBC in 108 episodes from 1958 to 1961 and featured Masterson as a superbly dressed gambler, generally outfitted in a black suit and derby hat, who was more inclined to “bat” crooks over the head with his gold-knobbed cane than shoot them. This cane replica that is available should not be used to bat people over the heads, if you can manage to control your urges. Think of this cane as a celebratory piece of history that is not only stylish, but will hold sentimental value for many years to come.
This canes the real deal it can be used as a medical device My last game was broken and I needed one right away so I purchased this because there’s one that I want to purchase but it comes from the Ukraine and take 6 weeks to get here and I need a cane sometimes everyday sometimes not but I have to have one and this is been a very pleasant surprise it was only $50 and once you get used to not having a handle but basically a thing to lean on and you get used to it learning how to use it it works very well and I can can’t tell you how many spills it’s…
He loved the style and had many complements about its uniqueness Sent it to a friend who uses a cane to walk. He loved the style and had many complements about its uniqueness. The brass band below the knob is perfect for engraving, so I had it personalized with his name in a beautiful, old style, script font. The cane itself is sturdy and well constructed. very satisfied.
Bat Masterson Walking Stick Bought it for my roommate and he seems to like it quit4e a bit. It doesn’t look cheap or tacky like most items you would think. Highly recommended.
