The original kick scooter just got a whole lot better, making it even more fun for kids and teens alike. Though it’ll never replace the internal combustion engine, the Razor A3 will get your child from point A to point B much quicker than on foot alone, and requires just a few scoots of one’s shoes in the process. Plus, it’s a blast to use, as your progeny will likely attest. The Razor A3 is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, a sturdy material that holds up to use and abuse through the years. Razor combined the traditional aluminum construction, however, with a number of recent innovations, including a springless shock-absorbing system that makes bumpy pavement feel smoother than ever and an all-new wheelie bar that guarantees an extra dollop of fun. Add in such details as 125 mm urethane wheels, ABEC-5 high-speed bearings, a patented rear fender brake, and a patented folding mechanism and you have a great kick scooter for virtually any situation. This version of the Razor A3, which supports up to 143 pounds and is recommended for ages 5 and older.
A3 vs A1 – What you should know (Pictures included) What a tremendous upgrade from the Razor A1 scooter that my daughter has been riding for the past 2 years. I wish I would have researched ahead of time originally because I probably never would have purchased the A1 and would have instead gone straight to the A3. The A1 if you are not familiar is what I would call the entry-level model from Razor. It is not a bad scooter, and may be fine for younger children to start with (under age 7). It is more compact and lighter in weight overall, which…
Perfect for 7 year old boy I had a hard time choosing a scooter with so many similar models. I am glad we chose this one – it’s the perfect size for my average sized 7 year old boy (actually 8 now, but still riding it). He learned to ride it very quickly and easily. By comparison, a friend bought her child the A5 and it was just way too big – the child had a hard time riding it at all. This is probably the best size for kids under 10. Also, I was confused about how the wheels would work on the sidewalk – so much…
A good scooter for older children but (un)folding mechanism could be improved We needed a new scooter for our relatively scooter-experienced 7-year old since a hand-me-down A Razor from an older sibling got too small for her. After comparing scooter specs in March 2016 we settled for an A3. The following comments apply:1. For for a price difference of only $6, the A3 is a better buy than the A2. The A3 has slightly larger wheels with better bearings than the A2 –which yield a smoother ride on uneven sidewalks– and a slightly larger frame with a larger…
