Quality control lacking…. LOVE the PowerSmith ash vacuum, but the filters do leave much to be desired. They work very well, if you manage to buy one that doesn’t have a hole in it. I’ve bought two, (one replacement spare, one that arrived with the vacuum) and BOTH had holes in the seams where they weren’t properly hemmed.This filter only works to keep the dust and ash inside the vacuum can if it doesn’t have holes…. that’s a pretty simple concept.Have incurred the cost to have these repaired…
Inspect Closely! My disappointment was partially my own fault for not thoroughly inspecting this filter immediately upon removing it from its sealed package. The seams were stitched very close to the edge of the fabric in two places. The first time I used it, concrete dust raced through unimpeded, and thoroughly clogged my new vacuum, causing the thermal overload feature to shut the unit down. But like all ash filters plugs up with soot within a … Seems to work fairly well. But like all ash filters plugs up with soot within a few minute of use. Causes vacuum to over-heat quickly within a few minutes of use. I use mine to clean my pellet stove. Must be cleaned after every vacuuming.
