Medium – fits Women’s 7-1/2 to 10, Men’s 8 to 10 Healthstar Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint is primarily intended for treating Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis, and may be ideal for other conditions recommended by a physician. The purpose of this light weight plantar fasciitis night brace is to keep the patient’s ankle in a neutral position overnight, passively stretching the calf and plantar fascia during sleep. This gentle stretch helps reduce the muscle contracture, inflammation and associated pain. The lightweight, low profile shell is sturdy and breathable and has three padded straps with buckles to ensure immobilization. It has a non-slip sole tread that adds safety when getting out of bed at night (not recommended for walking). In addition, the padding features a washable Lycra covering that is cool against the skin for maximum comfort.
Grateful to walk again. I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for almost a year. The Dr. gave me a choice of morning and evening stretches with ice packing after the stretches, surgery to thin the ligament or try a night restraint. He pushed for me to start with the exercises and ice and said he was sure that would be enough. Along with that he gave me a cortisone shot. I did exactly what he said. The pain had become so severe that even house work was almost too much for me. My ankles, knees and hips were now…
Doesn’t work well for me I don’t like the boot. The reason is, once in the boot, after around three hours, the straps loosen to the point my heel is sloshing around and my foot is out of the therapeutic position. My hubby’s help is required to tighten the straps and insert them into the book because I am very short waisted and its hard to see to make the connection. He makes the three straps as tight as I can tolerate them before shutting off circulation too. The plantar tendonitis hurts enough that I am willing…
Night Brace Did Not Work for Me I have worn a night brace for plantar fasciitis in the past, but that boot disintegrated over time. This looked like a good option, but it did not fit right for my foot. No matter how tight I secured the foot and ankle straps, there was a lot of slop in the fit. I wear a size 8-81/2 shoe so ordered the medium night splint. No matter how carefully I positioned my foot in the unit, within 5 to 10 minutes my heel was in excruciating pain. This happened even when I had no pain in my foot to…
