Learning to use a spoon is hard. NumNum makes it a little easier with this Self-Feeding Starter Kit that combines two innovative products, both designed for kids just starting utensils. NumNum Pre-Spoon GOOtensils are easier to use than a spoon because the head is flat. So there’s no scooping, no balancing, and no wrong way to hold them! Two stages of pre-spoons are included: The Stage One has raised textures that soothe sore gums and hold just enough food to give a baby a taste of self-feeding independence. The Stage Two is for thicker blends and pre-loading solids, such as advocado and sweet potatoes. The kit also includes the new NumNum Beginner Bowl. It has a patent-pending cone-shaped interior that guides food and utensil to the same spot. Eliminating corners helps to reduce frustration and waste. The broad-based design with no hard edges minimizes the risk of slipping and tipping. NumNum, indeed!
These textured feeding spoons have been so great for him We actually bought this set for our 20 month old who has some texture difficulties that have impeded his ability to chew and swallow foods effectively. These textured feeding spoons have been so great for him! The material and texture of them allows for the less solid foods (mashed/pureed) to stick on to the spoon, instead of slipped right off (like traditional spoons), which makes it a lot easier for babies to get at least some of the food into their mouth until they master their ability to…
Gootensils are great, the num num bowl not so much The Gootensils are awesome. The num num bowl, is a good idea, but isn’t secure at all. My child throws it or knocks it off the table every. single. time. I have other self feeder bowls that have better staying power. A suction cup on the bottom, or a wider stickier rubber bottom would be far better than just a rim of rubber around the base of the bowl.
Absolute must for the âjust-starting-solidsâ babes! I love these so much and so does my little guy (7 months). I learned about these through the Feeding Littles blog which encourages Baby Led Weaning and they have been such a fantastic addition to teaching our baby how to self-feed. He enjoys being fed homemade purées with the spoons and bowl, but has also mastered grabbing the spoon and guiding it into his mouth. Super easy to clean too! Great, great purchase!
