Very happy with these wheels. These “tires” are far better than the hard plastic wheels that came with my Medline walker. Those wheels worked OK but are noisy and outdoors they “halt” at every sidewalk crack and obstruction. I have almost lost my balance several times, outdoors. These North American “Off-road” wheels are quiet and roll right over most cracks, especially if you attack them at an angle. The skids are difficult to fit so I just use tennis balls on back. I do not find these rubber wheels…
Great for “off-roading” Bought these for my 86 year old auntie, who had seen them in Ireland. She was lamenting that her small hard walker wheels were untrustworthy for “off-roading” (as much as an 86 year old with titanium joints could be expected to off-road.) Darned if one week later she wasn’t cruising through Yosemite with my sister. They were very easy to install and didn’t prevent the walker from folding normally. not for us, but some may like it I got these for my husband’s walker because he walks on pavement, rocks, and concrete every day. He could not get through our bedroom door with the wheels turned to the outside, as directed, so now they are on the inside. I thought the large gliders would be helpful, too, but he keeps stepping on one of them, enough that it has come loose from the walker 3 times. I had to bang them in with a hammer, so I was surprised that it came out. I guess time will tell if this setup is actually better…
