Definitely Biodegradable We use these in our countertop scrap bin. It sees all kinds of stuff from veggies to coffee grounds. If we have a slow week and don’t get the bag out to our compost bin, the bags do start to break down a bit. It’s not that big a deal, as we can just take the whole pail out, but it is something of which to be aware. They fit well and hold up great in the house under normal conditions.
Thankful for a non-plastic option I was glad to find this product for a reasonable price on Amazon. It’s important to try to use less plastic! Yes, they are less sturdy. But you won’t feel bad about emptying your trash can more often, because you’ll know you aren’t adding yet another plastic bag to the trash stream.
Tears easily I’m moderately satisfied with these bags; they serve their purpose and fit my small compost bin. However, I’ve noticed that egg shells have a tendency to tear the bags. And for whatever reason, I’ve also noticed my compost bin itself is wet when I change out bags (not enough of a moisture barrier?).I won’t buy them again because of the tearing issue, but I’m stuck with 90 more of them to get through.
