A good version of Minecraft: could be better, but my kids really like it January 2017 update: My kids still play this to death. They have spent more time playing in this game than any other game on the Wii U or any other system we have.I’ve had the physical version for a week, but I’ve had the digital version since it got released. Ignore the negative reviews, most are complaining about buying another controller and not rating the actual game! Okay there seems to be a lot of confusion on this game. If you want to play with just 1 player, then all you need is the game pad. If you want to do multi-player, you’ll have to get either the Nintendo Pro Controller or the classic controller that plugs into the wii remote. You can still use the game pad during multi player but make sure that the game pad does not display the game on it. This will not allow you to play multi player otherwise. My son’s review of Minecraft for Wii U: Always love this game! Saved up to buy this. I like the multiplayer mode, up to four, so I can play with my siblings. However, Wii really missed out on the opportunity to utilize the game pad when in multiplayer mode. It just shows a dirt block on the game pad. You should be able to play through the pad screen, check your inventory and watch your character. You can only use the gamepad screen in single player mode. Not a huge deal but just lazy game design.
