Built solid. It is sturdy and strong if installed properly. Installs easily and quickly. After leaving the rehab center, my mother needed some assistance getting in/out of bed. Excellent assist except for 2 issues This is just what we needed for an elderly relative who, due to hip and spine issues, was having difficulty steadying herself when getting out of bed in the morning. She is under 100 lbs, so the bar is plenty strong enough to hold her, but I don’t know that I’d trust it to hold it up to the weights they claim, as the bar does have some flex to it when used. Great bed assist rail! Lousy pouch and the clip on the strap breaks WAY TO EASILY! This was my second purchase. My wife had a knee replacement and this helped tremendously now after my spinal surgery I needed one too. Both are excellent as far as assisting getting into and out of bed but the pouch is of inferior quality. My second one I received last week for my side of the bed and the pouch tore at the clip when I tried to snap it to the rail.
