High quality Japanese stainless steel blade is completely tempered to increase durability and mirror polished to resist rust and dirt.
MB HANA vegetable-tanned leather sheath is custom made in USA to fit this Tomita / Nisaku Hori Hori No. 650 and slotted to fit belts up to 2″ wide. Also includes black vinyl sheath from Nisaku / Tomita.
Concave blade for scooping soil and mixing in soil amendments, has engraved depth markings.
Exposed blade is 7.25″ long and 3mm thick. It’s extremely sharp for digging in the toughest soils. One side is serrated the other is straight.
Perfect multi-purpose tool for square foot gardening, mini farming or vertical and raised-bed gardening.

Better than a Bowie. One of the few Amazon items with consistent 5/5 reviews, and after occasion to use product I can see why. Was considering purchasing an expensive knife to use for weeding and sod cutting, but this item truly excels at this, so no need to. Lack of any tang can be overcome by using grippy gloves such as the latex dipped ones. This is as sharp as any knife I’d get, and use so far hasn’t dulled the edge one bit. Ohhhh yea! I was worried about purchasing this product…but gosh I fell in love with it and have used it every single day, as long as the weather permitted. I use the tiny tip for plucking out tiny weeds between plants, the serrated edge for practically everything (including cutting some frozen fish in half that I planted under my tomatoes and digging out weeds) and the name fits .. dig dig…even in hard packed earth! I keep it with me when I walk through the garden as it is so very useful in just about…

Love this tool Love this tool… I do landscape maintenance for a living and I would be lost without this tool. My Felco pruners go on one hip, the Hori knife on the other. It is great for weeding, planting, and cutting open soil bags. It is very sharp, so be careful. I had one of my crew slice his hand open. It is indispensable in my profession.
