A purpose-built plate that works well. These plates are expensive for what they are… i.e, a plastic plate. They are made of reasonably thick plastic and are sturdy enough, but the finish doesn’t look like it would hold up to the dishwasher, so I wash the plates by hand. Also, using a knife to cut food on the plate will quickly ruin the surface. So, why five stars? It is unfortunately totally useless for her I bought this for my mom who has ALS and can only use one hand (not her dominant one, either…) and I wanted it to work, but the plate skates around all over the place. It is unfortunately totally useless for her. I’m not sure if I can return it, since Amazon charges, I think. I bought a smaller one from Gripware and although we wish it was larger, that one has rubber feet all around the bottom and that works out much better.
It is fine, it is just hard to take the fact … Arrived promptly. It is what it is, a plastic plate for 12.xx dollars. It is helpful for our 95 year old family member. She is able to scoop her food using one hand with the help of the sides on the plate. There is no rubber on the bottom. So far it has not slid off of her table, however, I do see the potential. I also purchased a similar plate for almost a $1 more. It is also plastic with the lip/sides. However, this one does have a rubber ring on the bottom. I think this will be helpful to…
