Stolen Bike in SF, Defeated by Bolt Cutters My beautiful chromoly Specialized Allez got stolen last night, and it looks like this lock did little to slow down the thief. I understand that there is no such thing as a lock that can stop a truly motivated thief, but conventional wisdom states that you need some sort of power tool to cut a U-lock. Lock cutted under 7 seconds! $1500 guarantee is a scam. I bought this lock because of the high amazon reviews but if you look beyond the stars and read each of the review you may not find as much confidence buying this product. I thought a company that is willing to pay up to $1500 for your stolen bike must be a great product that has never seen a stolen bike but turns out its just all a marketing gimmick. Bike was stolen Kryptonite did not live up to its promise! Do not purchase this item. The lock is easy to break as mine was. Originally, I bought this because of the “confidence” Kryptonite has in its products. They state that if their locks are broken they will refund you a portion of the cost of the bike!
