Designed to link all the areas of the board are a multitude of train track pieces, ranging from straight and curved to inclined. The small wooden track pieces fit together with simple tongue-and-groove connections, allowing for easy, custom assembly. Support beams and bridges make it possible to arrange the track in a raised, crisscrossing configuration for multi-level fun.

Quality Hand-Painted Figures and Vehicles

The Ride Around Town Train offers a variety of colorful pieces to encourage imaginative play. Kids can place hand-painted wooden figures of farmers, construction workers, and doctors throughout town while racing the ambulance, fire truck, and magnetically connected train cars along the track. Sign posts, trees, and farm animals add to the fun of populating the landscape. When it’s time to take the fun vertical, an airport with helipad allows kids to fly an airplane and helicopter for jet-setting excitement.

The Ride Around Town Train is compatible with other wooden train sets for added fun. Kids can combine the Thomas and Friends train set, as well as the Brio wooden train set, to create the ultimate bustling community.

Tabletop Setting Raises Playtime off Floor

To keep playtime off the floor, the Ride Around Town Train features a large table for display. Measuring 49 inches long by over 34 inches wide, the table stands 16 inches high so that kids can be closer to the action while sitting. The MDF-constructed board also includes T-molded edges to help prevent chipping while providing a smooth, safe surface for kids to play on. As an added convenience, the Ride Around Town Train comes with a storage bin to house all the pieces underneath the table when not in use.

Our testers found the Ride Around Town Train set to be well-built and fun to play with. Using the detailed, step-by-step instructions, assembling the table required less than 30 minutes to complete. The artisanship and variety of the hand-painted wooden vehicles and figures added a charming touch that seems to be missing from most plastic toys.
