Don’t the handles. I needed this for the toilet after surgery for a split Femur. I do not like the handles at all. After using a walker , my hands are already sore. And the front of these handles are not rounded, but dip down right where my hands are sore. So I use the legs themselves to get up. Wish I had not bought it.

Not Quite as Solid I bought a set of these for my father a few years ago when his balance started to fade. I am facing back surgery and know that I need something to help with toilet balance. I bought this set. I like the design. It’s easy to clean, not overly obtrusive. I have to say, however, that this brand is not quite as solid as the old one I had. The arms wobble a little — not enough to return — but a noticeable sway. I wish I had known the brand of the other ones I had, they were much more solid…

I thought these things were supposed to standard sizes but when I went to Home Depot I found a good bit of variance between different manufacturers Had to buy a new seat to get the handles to fit. Make sure the distance between back of seat cover and mounting holes in commode are as narrow as possible. My toilet and seats were both American Standard and would not fit. An eight of an inch in the length of the plastic screw caps makes all the difference. You need the shortest ones.
