Competition-style beam for home practice
Ultra low profile, the Powerfly Balance Beam mimics competition beams without the height, so aspiring gymnasts can practice and play safely. The beam work surface is a standard 4in (10cm) wide, but stands just 2.5in (5cm) off the floor, dramatically reducing the risks from a slip or fall; the length is 7 feet. The low profile makes it a great training beam, as young athletes can practice new moves safely and in comfort. Heavy-grade synthetic suede mimics the feel of a competition beam and is also easy to clean.
Safe, sturdy and easy to store
Designed to be used at home, by children, the Powerfly Balance Beam lies flat to the floor while in use. The wooden base is cross-laminated for strength and to prevent warping. Fire-retardant foam padding, as used on competition beams, make it both safe and sturdy so it can take a pounding. Its upper weight limit is 110lb (50kg) making it ideal for children. It folds in half for easy storage, and so light and easy to use that your kids can set it up and can carry it around by themselves.
OK for beginner practice at home I chose this beam for my 5 year old daughter to practice on at home for two reasons: 1) I like how it folded for easy storage, and 2) price–I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a beam at this point (she’s only 5, how much will it be used?, etc.).It’s going to be OK for her to practice her cartwheels and such on, I plan to keep it. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have spent a bit more for one with better reviews–stability! This thing is pretty wobbly. We’re using it on…
This feels just like a balance beam This feels just like a balance beam. Soft and hard and suede-ish… I’m debating sending this back. It does not have any stability to the left or right. Put it on carpet and its too wiggly to balance. I think I’ll take a 1×2 and cut it down to two lengths about 18″ long and screw it into the ends to add stability. It will make it harder to store, but as it is, it not fun to play on… on carpet. If we put it in hardwood or concrete, it wouldn’t be fun to play on because of the hard…
False advertising on the color. Good product! Just thought it was going to actually be blue instead of purple. I have a boy so I really was hoping for it to be blue. If blue is an option please have the company contract me so I can exchange this item, thank you!
