Fun, quirky game The best Fluxx to date. Fluxx v5 is the best-ever version of a really great game, meaning there is no better time to get into the game. This is the perfect base set, which you can play by itself or use in conjunction with the many other expansions.What is Fluxx?The game starts simply. 3rd Grade and Up I was exposed to this game at work. I brought it to some bright elementary students and they love it. Then the parents playing the game on thier own. The first graders mostly gets it, but 3rd grade and up for sure. They enjoy how the rules change and how strategy (if you can call it that) plays out – often to the surprise of everyone. I did find it necessary to use a couple dice as counters to keep the card playing in check as it can get confusing at times what all the rules all add up to.
One of the most unique card games ever – great for a family, and never plays the same way twice! The new 5.0 version of Fluxx is great. It got rid of the “Creepers” cards, so the game plays more smoothly, especially for beginning players. Our family loves the Fluxx games. If you like this one, our second favorite is Firefly Fluxx and our third favorite is Zombie Fluxx. If you go to the Looney Labs web site, they also have expansion cards that allow you to write cards with your own rules and actions. Very fun!
