Needs to be modified to work well Product does not work well as is. I had 2 outdoor flood lights about 20ft up that need to be replaced. The way the pole extends and the way the changer heads are screwed on do not work for unscrewing bulbs. I kept fighting the stick because it would unscrew the changer head from the pole when I tried to remove the bulb. The little screw tab does not lock the head in place.What I ended up having to do was drill through the connector and put a screw straight through to keep the…
Apparently the manufacturers listened I needed to change a light-bulb that I don’t have a ladder tall enough to reach. I read a bunch of reviews about this light-bulb changer, and after reading what others had done to make this tool work, I went ahead and ordered this set. I was prepared to have to drill a hole in the threads at the top of the pole for the set-screw to go into, but there was already a slot milled into the threads! Problems Fixed… Several reviews have complained that it unscrews from the pole, and that it grips a floodlight bulb so tightly that it pulls the fixture out of the ceiling after replacing a bulb. Both of these happened to me, but were easy to fix. When it arrived the adapter that was in it unscrewed rather than unscrewing the bulb. Turns out the thumbscrew (mine has one, maybe some earlier ones didn’t) was not engaged with the adapter. Turns out you have to unscrew the thumbscrew, then screw the adapter in…
