This is an amazing value, perhaps the best robot car kit on … This is an amazing value, perhaps the best robot car kit on the market. Very professionally packaged and easy to put together (version 2.0, the 2016 version, is much improved in this respect due to a revised Arduino shield that has easier to use connectors that cannot be plugged in incorrectly). It’s quite easy to add a Raspberry Pi and camera to this and make it an advanced computer vision autonomous car for less than $135!

Smoke! This would be a 5 star rating except one issue – I was shipped a power harness to the servo board with reversed polarity leads. Made the mistake of not verifying every connector in the system with the actual printed circuit board labeling. When power was applied smoke was the result and I know for sure the battery compartment was destroyed and I fear the servo control board. I have reached out to Elegoo at their website but wanted to warn others to check their servo control board power leads…

Elegoo Kit Came with Non-matching Motors This kit would be a good value except for a problem that I’ll describe below. The instructions are adequate, parts are mostly good quality and the boards are clearly labeled. Assembly is easy. The Arduino code provided with the kit is useful and informative. The design of this kit is well thought out.However, after assembling the kit, I noticed that the car would not move in a straight line. One of the wheels was rotating slower than the other three, causing the car to turn and…
