What is a Gait Belt?
A gait belt is a safety device used to help someone move, such as from a bed to a chair. The belt is also used to help hold someone up while he walks, if he is too weak to walk on his own. The gait belt helps you provide support and helps prevent a fall. It also decreases your risk for a back injury while you help the person move or walk. (Source: Drugs.com)

NOT WHAT WE ALL SAW IN THE PICTURE OF THE PRODUCT.. Look at the picture. My whole family thought that it was a BELT with a BLUE pillow sewn on the back so that it would not hurt an elderly persons back while you tried to get them to their feet. but NO – it is just a belt (that BLUE THING IS THE WAIST OF THE MODEL) SO, WE CAN not use it on my 95 yr. old mom….
Physical Therapy Gait Belt Great for making sure my spouse who is a Parkinson’s Disease patient to make sure he doesn’t fall and to help t he person up
… patient – vital for full lift patient and just love the clasp which does not have to be re-adjusted … I am an RN using for care of immobility patient – vital for full lift patient and just love the clasp which does not have to be re-adjusted with each use. The positioning of the handles are toward the back which makes lifting correctly a breeze. Just perfect!
