Spiders beware These fresheners are wonderful, especially in the first week or so. I initially purchased this scent to see if I could get rid of spiders in my finished basement before I started a big painting project. Peppermint is the way to go! We live in an old house that smells mildewy from age. I can’t stand floral aromas (they make me sick). We tried making a reed diffuser out of essential oils mixed with a thinner carrier oil to allow the reeds to absorb, but it doesn’t do anything to improve the odor. This was our last resort. It works! It’s HUGE and conspicuous. We stuck it on the wall with 2 command strips, and it resembles a smoke detector. It doesn’t work for an entire room though like it says.
