Quality has gone down I had a Chicco Keyfit 30 when my son was born in 2011. I LOVED it, but it expired before my daughter was born in 2017, so I had to purchase a new car seat. I bought another Keyfit, but have been really disappointed with it. The quality has definitely gone down since 2011! The top won’t stay up and constantly falls back when we go on walks, which is really annoying, and they did away with the flip out shade extender (why?? That thing was wonderful!!). Overal a great purchase Pros: Our son was 5 lbs at birth and had to do a car seat study to make sure he could breathe while in this car seat – he can! Our confidence in this seat’s safety has only gone up when so many nurses and Safety Seat Installers have told us we got the best car seat. Not for small cars We did our research and chose this seat based on crash test results. Hopefully, we never will have to test that out. Here is the problem with rear facing and a great car seat – they barely fit in my car. I drive a Challenger and my husband drives a 3/4 ton truck. When this seat is correctly installed, it is massive.
