Accuracy is key The Care Touch Blood Pressure Monitor was acquired for my husband’s use. A few months back he had been diagnosed with potential high blood pressure by his general practitioner and we were asked to monitor it for a few weeks so that she could accurately prescribe treatment options. Our knee-jerk reaction was to purchase the first BP monitor we could find, so we went to our local/national pharmacy chain, who had many BP kits on display for purchase. Gave invalid readings. It ran really high. So I took it to my dr appointment and took my pressure with it and, 10 min later, with her monitor. She verified I was using the monitor properly. This monitor was 40 points higher than hers. I returned the unit.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting to monitor their BP but … I went to a dentist and as I predicted my BP went crazy when they measured it and they refused to do a cleaning. Went to to my primary care doctor and it was perfectly OK so I ordered this to monitor my BP daily. I followed the instructions to the letter as I’ve found these electronic BP machines can give errors but the reading was very close to my doctors surgery. Took it again the morning of the re-visit to the dentist and it was higher than normal, no surprise but as I had taken an extra BP…
