Product Description

The Blokus Board Game from Mattel includes 84 game pieces and has a colorful display window box. It’s great for kids and adults ages 7 and up. Blokus has even received a Mensa award for promoting healthy brain activity. The goal of this game is for players to fit all of their pieces onto the board. When placing a piece it may not lie adjacent to the player’s other pieces, but must be placed touching at least one corner of their pieces already on the board. The player who gets rid of all of their tiles first is the winner and strategic thinking helps.

1/3 smaller than the original I was a bit disappointed to find Matel has made the new line of Blokus boards smaller by about 1/3. The original board was 13″ x 13″ while this board is 10″ x 10″. Although it doesn’t seam much it’s actually a reduction of 69″ square inches which is equal to about 1/3 of the total area. It also doesn’t include resealable bags for the pieces (like the original did).

Great family game and helpful for ADHD kids! We read about this board game from a book about kids with ADHD. We’ve always felt our daughter will perhaps one day receive that diagnosis and this was recommended to work on some executive functioning skills. It definitely is a strategy based game and requires a lot of concentration, planning, and focus, but it was a fun kind of challenge and one that our daughter was excited to take on! At first, it seemed to complicated for her, and she got frustrated, but within a few days she was addicted…

4 out of 5 stars; brain burner with only one addition needed for 5 stars Great game in a great package. The game is brilliant and a true brain burner. We play with our 6 year old son without a problem. The game does work best with 2 or 4 players, but can be played with 3 (as we do… 2 parents 1 child). The best part about the game is that there is no elimination of players and there is always a sense as a player that you are in a position to finish the game strong and possibly win. You are never out of the running. It’s also a great tool to help children…
