What are Lumens and Kelvins?

Lumens are a measurement of how much light is generated – or brightness – each lumen emits approximately the same amount of light as one candle.

Kelvin represents the “color” (which is based on the temperature) of the light.

Bioluz LEDs are manufactured so that our 2700K (2700 Kelvin) bulbs are nearly identical in color to incandescent bulbs. Our 3000K bulbs are designed to match halogen bulbs.

We’ve found that bulbs which are 4-5000K generate a bluish tint on objects (like at a hospital or office building) and are not as comforting in a home.

Many brands sell and market higher Kelvin (4-5000) bulbs with lower lumens to make them “appear” brighter. Bioluz LED manufactures the correct color bulbs with exceptionally bright, energy efficient LEDs, so you get the color and brightness you’re accustomed to without the harsh effect of higher color temperatures.

Goldilocks and the three lights After a failed quest to find soft white light bulbs that have more of a yellow tint like incandescent, I finally settled for these. These were the third set of bulbs that I bought for my bathroom fixtures. The first two were nearly blinding and would work very well in an interrogation room. I finally figured out how much brighter LED bulbs are than incandescent and replaced 6 LED 60 watts (different brands than Bioluz) with these in 40 watt instead. It definitely calmed things down. You can run all 6 bulbs and use only 36 watts, a very compelling reason to change out your most frequently used lights!! We have been changing out the lights that we use most frequently with LED bulbs after one of my husbands co-workers mentioned that he went to LED bulbs in his home and noticed that his electric bill was over $100.00 less the first month. Granted, the co-worker has 4 kids living at home, so I don’t expect to realize that type of savings, yet when you realize that you can run all 6 of these bulbs and use only 36 watts, that is a very compelling reason to change out your most frequently used…

I love led bulbs but these buzz I love led bulbs but these are the first I’ve purchased that buzz. Each one I screw in makes the buzzing a bit more obvious, they are slightly annoying.I don’t know if I should return them or not. Only found one other person having a buzzing problem.Update 4/10/16I emailed Bioluz and they sent out replacements immediately, the replacements are of a better quality than the ECO series. Iâm ok with that because they do not buzz.I canât change my rating of the product…
