Both specifications require that compostable products completely decompose in a composting setting in a specific time frame, leaving no harmful residues behind. For best results: Use within one year of purchase; Store in a cool, dry place away from excessive heat. (Try the fridge or freezer); Change out your used BioBag every 3-5 days; condensation may form when used in a closed container. BioBags are Manufactured in the USA with resin sourced from Italy. A CAUTIONARY TALE… These are green, bio degradable trash bags. New York City now requires one to put food scraps, leaves, or yard cuttings in these bags in order to direct sanitation workers that this garbage is to be used as compost. While there is no issue with leaves or yard cuttings in these bags, when it comes to foods scraps there is, which is why I do not care for these bags, though I understand and concur with the need for their usage.Apparently, because the bags are bio degradable, if…

Compost bags break down and leak after only a few days with food waste in them. Not Good! Like all the other 1 star reviews, I too got suckered into buying this bulk pack of 3 gallon compost bags. I am so dissatisfied with them as they break down and leak after a few days and make a mess in the plastic garbage bin. I was thinking that maybe the seller sold us some old expired bags that are disintergrating at end of life span? But I see so many other complaints about the same problem.

pricey, but good for the conscience Okay, they CAN leak and the CAN tear. However, I have found these problems are pretty easy to avoid. I use these only in the kitchen. Don’t put a lot of wet material in the garbage, especially when you first start a new bag. I let the coffee grinds in the filter dry during the day, then dump it out in the evening, that sort of thing. I haven’t had one of these rip in several years, using roughly a bag a week. If it looks like it’s leaking, I just take a little more care taking it outside, then…
