The Original Big Wheel 16in. Classic; for almost 50 years Big Wheel has been a kids’ favorite way to get around! The sturdy plastic tricycle is 35in. long when assembled and features it’s iconic 16in. big wheel. The seat is approx. 6in. off the ground, so young riders will have an easy time getting on and off, and the low center of gravity makes for a safer ride. The seat is also adjustable in 3-positions to grow with your child. The oversized front wheel is ideal for fast-action peddling as the wide rear wheels grip the sidewalk for high speed stability and control. Made in the USA. Includes a red and yellow plastic Big Wheel frame with one 16in. wheel and two 8in extra-wide wheels, adjustable seat, handlebars, 2 pedals and sticker sheet. Easy adult assembly required. Recommended for children 3-8 years of age up to 70lbs.
Partly misdesigned The Big Wheels is fine, colorful and appealing to kids, but the front wheel, which the pedals move and which, accordingly, propels the Big Wheels, lacks ridges as, for example, a car’s tires have (the treads), and thus lacks traction, especially when going up even a slight incline. The font wheel looks as if it has treads, as a tire does, but it does not. My four-year-old grandson, who was initially thrilled by the Big Wheels, was less than pleased that he could not peddle it up even a slight…
Need a hammer and time to put together I liked this big wheel for my son. Takes a bit of time to put together. You will need a hammer to put this bike together, so keep that in mind. There are a few tiny pieces that could be easily lost, so have a good space and a tray to hold the parts while you put it together. Read directions and examine pictures carefully and set aside some time.
Poor Quality and Overpriced Ascetically it looks great, functionally it’s garbage. The pedals simply wont stay on. I’ve put together plenty of toys and pedals are usually the easiest. Slide them on, grab a hammer, and tap them into place. My kid can’t ride his Big Wheels for more than 3 seconds without a pedal falling off. Now the only option is returning the item for a refund, they wont even allow me to exchange it……and of course it’s $30 more now compared to when I bought it. What am I supposed to tell my kid? Sorry…
