Mind the Gap We just received and assembled this today. My husband and I put it together in under an hour in the dark on our back deck after the kids were asleep…to address some reviewers comments1. The instructions were basically a series of photos with few to no words, yes, but they were plenty sufficient.2. The wood is quite thin and cedar by nature is a very soft wood…it is what it is.3. All holes on our wooden pieces had pilots drilled appropriately. Some said there werenât holes…
It’s well liked by those using it It’s well liked by those using it, but a few things to note. Firstly, it smells amazing, the whole house will smell like cedar for at least a week. Secondly, The wood is thinner that I’d have imagined, and it cracks a bit when building it. Almost none of the holes are pre drilled and there’s no markers, so you’re following a sketch to put this thing together that looks like it was written on a bar napkin. It’s been sturdy enough so far with actual use, needs at least 400lbs of sand to be good…
Gap in product. Disappointed with that. Easy to assemble, BUT only 4 stars bc there’s a big gap and there shouldn’t be one! Followed instructions perfectly, but still a big gap. My kids don’t care, but doesn’t match as advertised and exposes more than should to the elements.
