The Comfort Foam Cock-Up Wrist And Thumb Splint is made from soft foam with a soothing nylon material laminated to each side. The Velcro closures and adjustments provide customizable support for greater comfort. There is a bendable stay that runs from the wrist all the way to the end of the thumb, which can be bent and shaped to provide the best fit and function for the user. The thumb is abducted with a soft plush material that gently cradles it in the correct position. There is a metal stay in the palm that holds the wrist in the “cock-up”position. The palmer stay is bent at a recommended 30 degree angle which is believed to help open the carpal tunnel and thus reduce pressure on the carpal nerve.
