Light, comfortable finger splints support and protect your fingers to help heal injuries and problems caused by arthritis or other health conditions. Oval-8 Finger Splints help treat Mallet Finger, Trigger Finger or Thumb, Swan Neck and Boutonniere Injuries, Hypermobility (EDS) and Crooked Fingers. The Oval-8 Sizing Set is perfect for those who know don’t know their size or want the convenience of having more than one splint.
SIZING: Open the Sizing Set ring and remove several of the Oval-8 Finger Splints that are most likely to fit the affected joint of your finger. To find the splint size, look for the number following “Oval-8” on the bottom of the band. The correct size should slide on comfortably and feel snug around the affected joint, but not overly tight. If the splint is too tight or too loose, turn the splint around and slip the other end on first to see if it’s a better fit. If the splint is still too tight or too loose, try another size until you have a comfortable fit.
Oval-8 sizes are precisely calibrated. The difference in circumference from one size to the next is only 1/16” to 1/8” and can be affected by minor swelling or by how the splint is worn. The sizing method described is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate for all fingers. Oval-8 Finger Splints may need to be adjusted by a healthcare provider trained in fitting splints for the most successful treatment.
NOTE: Oval-8 Finger Splints are not recommended for children under the age of 4 as they may cause choking if swallowed. Do not use an Oval-8 over an open sore or wound. Wait until any significant swelling has subsided before wearing an Oval-8 Finger Splint. It is recommended that you discuss use of this splint with your health care provider.
Buy the whole Oval-8 Finger Splint Sizing Set Buy the whole Oval-8 Finger Splint Sizing SetI read the reviews which mentioned to buy the whole Splint Sizing Set. I am really glad I did. I started out using 8 & 9 on my Mallet finger and now the swelling has gone down to a 7. If I got the 6-7-8 set it would not have helped when my finger swelled to a 9 or if I bought 8-9-10 it would not have helped when it went down to a 7.Also I recently developed a problem with another finger and was immediately able to find the right…
Nothing else like it Like I said above, there really is nothing else on the market that I could track down like an Oval-8 Splint. I jammed my middle finger on my right hand and tore the tendon giving myself “mallet finger”. That’s a condition where the very end of the finger droops at that last joint because the muscle isn’t attached any longer to pull it back to straight, while the muscle on the bottom side still pulls. Over time the finger gets more and more “fixed” in that mallet position…
Excellent product! Mallet finger is not something you want to have, but working in my garage I got this unpleasant surprise. Got stax splints which were ok, but the skin started macerating under the plastic splint, no matter the small holes there. I used a bit of gauze/bandage to wrap the finger before inserting it inside the stax splint. Still not perfect, because you needed to keep the finger dry or else you’d need to change the wrapping again. The best choice was to get the Oval-8 splints. I looked…
