These are brass-plated steel, so they are not suitable for outdoor use, and since they are not true grommets (no washers included), they are not suitable for mounting in fabric.

These brass grommets/candle cups are working great My husband is a wood carver and when he makes candle holders he uses these cups to put in the candle opening he carves, or actually “turns” or whatever on the machine is that he uses to make bowls and candleholders, etc.We have lots of other candleholders we’ve collected during the years, not carved, but glass, silver, etc., and in all these others I have to find a way to get the candles to stay in them, since they are too large for most of the taper and tall candles I buy…
Awesome Quality but DOESN’T Fit Some Tapers! I would have given these five stars, but contrary to other postings, these DO NOT hold battery operated taper candles, which was disappointing! They are of great quality, so I’m keeping them for future use, but they DEFINITELY don’t work with the battery operated taper candles. I do a lot of crafting, so these will come in handy…just not the one I’m working on now…. bummer!!!! :/
