The Graduated Sets of 3 sizes are great for those trying Oval-8 Finger Splints for the first time. Graduated Sets give you a good chance of finding the right fit for your finger condition now and you have extra sizes if swelling or temperature changes affect your finger. Use Oval-8 Finger Splints to treat Arthritis, Mallet Finger, Swan Neck and Boutonniere Injuries, Trigger Finger or Thumb, Hyper-flexible and Crooked Fingers.
SIZING: Choosing the correct Oval-8 size can be affected by swelling, temperature and by how precisely the measurement is made. To choose a size likely to fit your finger, wrap a tailor’s measuring tape around the finger joint you are treating. Pull lightly so the tape conforms smoothly around your finger. Use the sizing chart to find the size range closest to your measurement. You can also measure using a jeweler’s ring sizer placed around the joint you are treating or with the Oval-8 Sizing Guide.
Oval-8 sizes are precisely calibrated. The difference in circumference from one size to the next is only 1/16” to 1/8” and can be affected by minor swelling or by how the splint is worn. The sizing method described is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate for all fingers. Oval-8 Finger Splints may need to be adjusted by a healthcare provider trained in fitting splints for the most successful treatment.
NOTE: Oval-8 Finger Splints are not recommended for children under the age of 4 as they may cause choking if swallowed. Do not use an Oval-8 over an open sore or wound. Wait until any significant swelling has subsided before wearing an Oval-8 Finger Splint. It is recommended that you discuss use of this splint with your health care provider.
The Oval-8 is better than the expesive custom splint I had I had a boutoniere deformity injury to my pinky finger. I went to a hand orthopod who first tried to fit me with an Oval-8. She did not have the correct size. So her Occupational Therapist made a custom splint from a plastic sheet that conforms to a shape when heated. The cost of that splint was approximately $150. It was never very comfortable and I don’t think it quite fit properly. I need to have the splint on for at least 6 weeks. It was not going to be a fun 6 weeks.
Worth the price! I have a trigger finger on my left middle finger. I didnât want a bulky splint so when I saw these, I decided to give them a try. The sizing can be tricky from a lot of the reviews I read so I decided on a graduated set of 3. The price is very reasonable for 3 splints. I know that I wear a 61/2 ring on that middle finger and the size 7 splint fits perfectly. The 6 barely went on the 8 is a bit big, but if I have swelling, I think that will work too. Hereâs the other thing – there is a 1/2 size…
Fantastic and perfect custom fit without the doctors bills Fantastic and perfect custom fit without the doctors bills. I have Ehler danlos syndrome and sprain or dislocate my fingers donât no normal daily tasks but these are keeping my fingers safer and the first sign of a strain I put them on and Iâm back to what I need to be doing. Best products out there for these kind of issues easily after trying many bulky sticky and just plain too large items out there for my small 5 2â frame these were recommended by my home nurse and I only wish Iâd found them…
