Perfect splint for anyone with a Mallet finger (avoid figure 8 splint!!) This is the 2nd time I have experienced this injury (2nd time being more severe with the fracture). The splint provided by my doctor was a similar style, but was harder plastic & did not have the split top that this one has, so there was a slight gap between my finger and the splint. Mallet finger splint I had been hurt my left hand ring finger by my son about four and half years old accidentally by running towards to me too fast and bending my D.I.P join just about seconds…I did not notice my finger was out of nomal finger shape two days after and saw a doctor in the urgent medical center. Best I’ve found!! I wanted to wait until I’ve had it on for awhile. I have mallet finger as a result of a fall. After trying 5 different splints (including a laughable one from a doctor!!), and reading all the great reviews. I ordered it. Not only is it lightweight and lets my finger breath; it’s easy to clean because it’s made from a durable plastic. I haven’t had the need to open the second one yet. The tendon is slowly healing. Most important to me: it is nice and slim so I can wear plastic gloves…
