For over 50 years, Sammons Preston has been the premier brand in aids to daily living and homecare devices. Sammons Preston products are adaptive living aids that help people cope with their environment. Whether you are a therapist or patient, someone with special needs, or just have a need to make life easier and more accessible, Sammons Preston products can help you. Occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals rely on Sammons Preston adaptive utensils, adaptive plates and silverware, nosey cups, reachers and grabbers, grab bars, sock pullers, shoe horns, dressing sticks, hip kits, leg lifters, back scrubbers, gait belts, wheelchair belts, trays, and wheelchair accessories. These are the same high quality professional products used in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.
USELESS As a person with MS and back issues a grabber is a handy item and allows a measure of independence. A folding grabber was needed to fit inside a bag that goes with me to pool therapy, for changing clothes. This Sammons Preston reacher has plastic parts where the reacher folds. First it separated from the metal at the fold almost immediately; a few weeks later the plastic cracked and is now totally useless as a folding reacher. Less than 2 months after purchase I’m needing another .
Weak shaft design, not recommended I purchased both the 27 inch and this one the 32 inch. For the 32 inch the manufacturer spliced two shafts together with a plastic insert. It bends at the joint and comes apart if you use the end hook to pull on something like a drawer. It is quite flimsy and doesnât grip as it should. The 27 inch works just fine. I do not recommend the 32 inch version…at all.
Great value , I think being Square makes it stronger and easier to control . Nice length, grips well with medium to light items, not for large or heavy items. Worked excellent for pulling dog toys out from under chairs, or items from on floor onto my hands when in Wheelchair. nice snug grip on the item.
