Your kit comes complete with 3 sealed bags of non-toxic white clay, double sided tape, a wooden roller and of course a lovely hand painted white wood frame an IVORY picture frame mat.

After a thorough hand wash, open the packs of clay and have the frame open ready to set the clay into. Knead the 3 packs of clay together until nicely blended for about 3-5 mins. It should feel soft and be one cohesive piece of clay. To keep your clay smooth for the imprint, keep it in your hands and do not put it down onto any surface. Set the clay down into the frame opening. Press and smooth it out with your hand, fingers, and wooden roller. Take your time, this is a precious keepsake and does take practice your first time to get it just right. Once you are satisfied with the smoothness you accomplished, you are ready to press the print!

*We suggest saving a little bit of clay in a zip lock baggie to smooth out any excess cracking when drying. As that is part of the drying process and results can vary, since every area has different levels of moisture in the air. While we cannot guess how much shrinkage or drying will occur, we suggest saving a bit for later once completely dry to “touch up” to perfect your masterpiece!*

Make sure to fill the entire space right into the corners. If you mess up, then just knead the clay again and try again! Do not rush, your clay will stay soft for a while Once you are happy with your imprint, please allow 3-4 days for the clay to thoroughly dry. We use a high-quality clay that gives you time to redo it and work with it longer…it needs enough time to dry.
